Daily Bible Verse and Devotions to Uplift Believers Everyday

Resist and Persist

James 4: 7-8: Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.  Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you

You’ve probably heard this old saying, ‘you take one step towards the Lord and He will take two’, well that saying is true to a certain degree.  When we resist evil, we draw closer to the Spirit of God and when we draw closer, God, Himself draws closer to us with His Spirit

As believers, we must daily resist evil, but persist on walking on the path that God has laid out for us to follow.  Evil separates us from God in a way unimaginable and the only way for us to enter into His holy realm is to begin and continue resisting temptation to sin against Him.  When we break a commandment or commit some deed which is against His law, His ways, we drift farther and farther away from God.  However, if we strive to live the life that He so wants us to live, God will see and begin to work with you to bring you into His fold

Make that committment today to move closer to God and resist anything that would create a wedge between you and Him

God Bless You!
